Join Rolls‐Royce as an Engineering Manager – Electrical Infrastructure and perform the role of Infrastructure Design Authority playing a key part in delivering large-scale physical infrastructure to support the AUKUS submarine program. This critical role performs the Intelligent customer capability for all matters relating to Electrical Infrastructure across conventional and nuclear facilities.

You will also be the responsible person for ensuring the safe running of all the Electrical facilities on the Raynesway site(s) and assuring appropriate maintenance/testing/inspection of the Electrical assets.

You will be a key member of the new Infrastructure Business Unit enabling the delivery of future Submarines through assurance of design and build of new infrastructure along with ensuring that current operations continue as required through upkeep of Electrical assets.

What you will be doing

  • Carry out the role of Electrical Infrastructure Design Authority through defining Engineering standards, including Quality Control and Quality Assurance, for use by nuclear and conventional facility projects within the Submarines business.
  • Assure that Rolls‐Royce, Client and Regulatory requirements have been appropriately incorporated into the design and modification of new and existing facilities and associated infrastructure.
  • Provide design, modification and build assurance of Electrical Infrastructure engineering in support of all new Infrastructure projects.
  • Set the Electrical Asset Management Strategy/Plan and assure appropriate maintenance, testing and inspection of all Electrical Assets is undertaken.
  • Be the Responsible Person (Electrical) and Senior Authorised Person Electrical undertaking duties associated with High Voltage Switchgear rated at voltages between 1kV and 36kV.

To be successful in the role and ensure safe and operable Infrastructure, the following is required:

  • A Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experienced in the design, construction and operation of nuclear and conventional facilities and infrastructure within the UK.
  • Familiarisation with latest related Euro Codes, British Standards, Codes of Practice and Guidance Documents.
  • Experience of undertaking SAP(E) Duties associated with High Voltage Switchgear rated at voltages between 1kV and 36kV.
  • Ability to influence at all levels and build strong relationships.
  • People leadership and change management experience.
  • Experience of Controls & Instrumentation in an Infrastructure environment is desirable.
