Responsibilities
- Full life‑cycle responsibility for microgrid and distributed energy control systems, from concept through to deployment and operational support.
- Design and analysis of systems including energy storage systems (BESS), grid‑connected and islanded microgrids, energy management systems (EMS) and SCADA interfaces, and integration of third‑party renewables.
- Real‑time control, automation, and optimisation algorithms across power systems, embedded software and digital platforms.
- Support for new designs, installations and optimisation of existing energy assets.
- Verification, validation and testing, with continuous improvements.
- Planning, documentation and reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience.
- Appropriate qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a similar field, or demonstrable industry experience.
- Experience with B&R Automation Studio IEC 61131‑3 Structured Text (ST).
- Strong background in control systems and power systems engineering.
- Experience with renewable energy systems and/or microgrids.
- Knowledge of energy management systems (EMS), SCADA and real‑time control.
- Understanding of UK Grid codes, power system dynamics and energy markets.
- Full and Clean Driving Licence.
- UK passport holder.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe when required.
