Responsibilities

  • Full life‑cycle responsibility for microgrid and distributed energy control systems, from concept through to deployment and operational support.
  • Design and analysis of systems including energy storage systems (BESS), grid‑connected and islanded microgrids, energy management systems (EMS) and SCADA interfaces, and integration of third‑party renewables.
  • Real‑time control, automation, and optimisation algorithms across power systems, embedded software and digital platforms.
  • Support for new designs, installations and optimisation of existing energy assets.
  • Verification, validation and testing, with continuous improvements.
  • Planning, documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience.
  • Appropriate qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a similar field, or demonstrable industry experience.
  • Experience with B&R Automation Studio IEC 61131‑3 Structured Text (ST).
  • Strong background in control systems and power systems engineering.
  • Experience with renewable energy systems and/or microgrids.
  • Knowledge of energy management systems (EMS), SCADA and real‑time control.
  • Understanding of UK Grid codes, power system dynamics and energy markets.
  • Full and Clean Driving Licence.
  • UK passport holder.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and Europe when required.
