The Construction Manager will be responsible for the management of the UDG construction site at EDF NNB’s Hinkley Point C, in order to achieve required project delivery to the build schedule, whilst maintaining standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact and cost control. The role will require regular UK travel and frequent trips to visit the site at Hinkley Point C. They will deliver the build to specified quality, the required programme and to the maximum commercial performance. The post-holder will work closely with the commercial department, engineers and surveyors to ensure that the projects are completed in a safe manner whilst customer requirements and expectations are always maintained or exceeded.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead & manage the construction teams to deliver their responsibilities and ensure the team works in a structured & cohesive way.
  • Provide overall guidance & management to ensure project success.
  • Responsible for enabling construction activities, including design integration, collaboration with the installer to focus on, and driving for, reduction of time on site.
  • Responsible for ensuring constructability, assembly & utilisation of Industrialised Construction techniques throughout the life of a project.
  • Ensure project handover is completed to required timescales & delivery milestones.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Have excellent project management and leadership skills, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Have minimum 10 years’ experience in a senior role on major construction projects.
  • Possess relevant bachelor’s degree in engineering or project management or substantial equivalent experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, in-depth knowledge of construction techniques and technical specifications.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Civil Nuclear business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place. Due to the nature of work the business conducts and the protection of certain assets we can only progress applications from individuals who are a UK national or, in MoD approved cases, a dual national.
