An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Component Repair Engineer to join the team in Derby. As a Component Repair Engineer, you will develop repair process definitions and repair sources by optimizing concepts and solutions within agreed engineering and business constraints. You will be enhancing the competitive and commercial performance of Rolls‐Royce and its customers and where relevant, its Suppliers, across the product life cycle.
Responsibilities- To develop repair definitions to meet the needs of the business and customers.
- Return service run components back to a serviceable condition utilising various manufacturing/lab processes.
- Define and maintain technical requirements for component repair processes and ensure compliance with them.
- Identify opportunities for new repairs based on the condition of service run components and define the limits within a repair is technically feasible.
- Verify the repair method. Ensure that all engineering, design and other specification requirements have been correctly understood, accounted for, verified and recorded when defining and implementing the repair method.
- Definition of the validation and verification requirements for repair definitions.
- Create and maintain relationships with customers through good communication to ensure technical solutions meet agreed requirements.
- Create and maintain relationships with Design Engineers and Product Definers to ensure that repair methods are considered during initial design concepts.

- Relevant Technical degree or equivalent industrial experience.
- Good knowledge of functionality of relevant components and systems with full consideration of the intended form, fit and function of the product.
- Knowledge of System, subsystem and component design and the effect of Repair of components on the greater system.
- Knowledge of materials properties for the selection of material or execution of process.
- A mindset for creating technical solutions with a Life Cycle Cost philosophy.
- General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to their business, and detailed understanding of the manufacturing processes relevant to their role.
- Understanding of Regulatory and Industry Codes and Standards relevant to their role.
