An exciting opportunity for a commercial manager based in Derby. This role involves drafting, negotiating, and amending proposal and contract documentation, working with Sales to develop value analysis and proposition of guarantees, warranties and service structures during the sales campaign and contracting phases. The role includes instructing new business on all contract commitments and handing over to Regional Customer Teams and GC Commercial Management Team.
Responsibilities
- Provide commercial input to Integrated Campaign Team (ICT), identifying value through commercial structures, service levels and guarantees.
- Work with Sales to identify and value campaign‑specific competitive advantages/disadvantages of Rolls‑Royce service structures, service levels and guarantees; run sensitivity models.
- Provide advice on use of guarantees and TotalCare structure, explaining service and guarantee components to ICT and customers.
- Influence customers to select Rolls‑Royce preferred service structures, levels and guarantees, using Customer perspective modelling where applicable.
- Draft, negotiate and amend allocated proposals and contracts in accordance with relevant processes.
- Support VP‑Commercial with internal approvals, drafting, and coordination of inputs from subject matter experts.
- Coach, lead or support ICT during sales and contracting phase.
- Identify and assess potential risks and liabilities, proposing and negotiating amendments to manage or mitigate such risks.
- Provide feedback from sales and contract negotiations to develop policies, services, guarantees and precedent documentation.
- Instruct new business agreements, gain commitments and hand over to Regional Customer Teams and GC Commercial Management Team.
- Interface with specialist teams, evaluate advice and develop pragmatic risk‑based solutions to complex, multi‑dimensional issues.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the General Counsel function and business teams.
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent qualification.
- Well‑developed interpersonal, diplomacy, communication, influencing and negotiations skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems while maintaining customer focus.
- Highly motivated, capable of working independently or in a team.
- Sound business acumen and ability to prioritise workloads to meet demanding deadlines.
- Experience influencing at all levels across an organisation.
