Job Description
Tax Manager, London, Full time. Join a dynamic finance team within RRPF, a JV business of Rolls‑Royce focused on aircraft engine leasing. Your primary objectives will be to ensure compliance obligations are met, manage and improve tax processes, and act as a key and trusted partner to the wider business. This global role covers various aspects of tax, VAT and transfer pricing across multiple jurisdictions and supports the implementation of RRPF’s Tax Risk Management Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Manage UK and international direct and indirect tax compliance, ensuring all deadlines are met and liaising with external advisors.
- Manage the forecast of RRPF’s direct tax liabilities and payments.
- Handle tax for group reporting and provisioning, and provide input for financial statement disclosures.
- Own and update tax process manuals for compliance, VAT, Intrastat, and act as control owner for tax risks.
- Develop and manage RRPF’s tax risk register, oversee SAO reporting, and advise senior management on current and emerging tax risks.
- Assist with providing tax advice on regular business transactions and ad hoc projects.
- Build and maintain in‑house tax knowledge on UK issues (e.g., long‑funding leases, CIR rules) and international issues (e.g., withholding tax, closing locations).
Qualifications and Essential Skills
- Qualified chartered tax accountant (CTA) and chartered accountant (CA, ACA, ACCA) with post‑qualification experience in a tax manager role (advisory or compliance).
- Strong UK tax technical knowledge, including tax accounting.
- Excellent attention to detail, written and spoken communication, and the ability to distil the “story behind the numbers.”
- Ability to prioritise and juggle competing priorities and deadlines.
- Solution‑oriented, collaborative, supportive teamwork mindset, and a positive can‑do attitude.
Desirable Experience and Skills
- Strong general accounting knowledge and experience in a multi‑GAAP environment.
- Experience managing tax audit processes.
- Experience with international tax rules and advising on international transactions.
- Working knowledge of US tax regulations.
- Ability to identify, communicate, and mitigate key risks when advising other parts of the business.
- Familiarity with Sun Systems, Hyperion, Salesforce, and accounts production software.
- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office applications.
- Financial modelling skills.
- Interest or experience in the leasing, aviation, or airline industry.
