Chief Audit Engineer – Full Time – UK (Derby, Bristol or Solihull)
Reporting to the Director of Technical and Safety Assurance, the Chief Audit Engineer will conduct and report on independent reviews of all engineering programmes to identify risks, recommend actions and agree the adequacy of project and/or functional responses.
Responsibilities
- Provide independent Technical Assurance of Engineering Programmes as part of the PILM process.
- Provide independent input to the Safety Management System on behalf of the Technical Director.
- Provide guidance and assistance to Project and Sub‑System teams in solving technical issues as appropriate and promote lessons‑learnt activity.
- Assess and provide guidance on the efficient and effective functioning of the Engineering Capabilities.
- Assist Chief Engineers in meeting project, company, and regulatory requirements.
- Be a member of Product Safety Review/Assurance Boards when required.
Qualifications
Level B and reporting to Director of Technical and Safety Assurance.
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Recognised by a relevant professional institute e.g. Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society.
- Accredited as a professional engineer e.g. Chartered Engineer or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Significant controls, units, software, cyber and digital experience preferred.
- Experience across the full PILM and product life‑cycle process.
- Multi‑sector experience preferred, Aerospace experience essential.
- Leadership of project or function activity.
- Significant exposure to other functions and activities.
- Whole Engine Integration or multiple sub‑system experience.
- Knowledge and reputation in key technical discipline and effective networking.
