- Overview
Systems Engineering & Verification group at Rolls‑Royce is recruiting Engineers to support Defence Programmes across the UK and internationally.
The role focuses on translating stakeholder requirements into viable engineering solutions, supporting programme milestones and advancing diagnostic tools such as MBSE.
Responsibilities
- Lead Systems Engineering across the entire life‑cycle.
- Integrate with and provide systems engineering coaching or training to engineers from other functions.
- Facilitate the elicitation, maturation and validation of stakeholder requirements including customer, business and technical insights to ensure robust problem and solution space understanding.
- Establish and maintain an appropriate information structure (Customer, Business, System, Sub‑System, Component) and develop or maintain associated management plans.
- Represent Rolls‑Royce in customer and partner working groups related to the project.
- Identify, manage and escalation of project risks (technical, cost, supply chain and timescale) in accordance with the risk management plan.
- Develop product verification strategies and compliance statements.
- Deploy and evaluate new SE tools, such as MBSE, on agreed programmes.
Qualifications
- Degree level in a STEM subject with relevant engineering experience (Mechanical, Aeronautical, Electrical or Controls).
- Systems‑level thinking with evidence of deploying Systems Engineering techniques to solve complex problems.
- Evidence of effective communication and collaboration across engineering disciplines.
- Preferably a broad understanding of gas turbine functional operation and physical characteristics.
- Preferably experience with Systems Engineering tools such as IBM DOORS or Cameo Systems Modeller and knowledge of standards such as ARP‑4754A/ED‑79A.
- Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance. Rolls‑Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if it is not already in place.
