Digital & IT has developed a five year strategy, supporting the ongoing transformation within Rolls-Royce. This role is a project delivery role operating across the entire IT domain portfolio and supports this strategy by providing enterprise applications used by colleagues around the world in multiple businesses. You will be working across Digital & IT and will be required to effectively engage with the other delivery teams as required.
What you will be doing
The Business Analyst within Enterprise Solutions plays a vital role in bridging the gap between business needs and technical solutions. They work closely with stakeholders, Product Owners, and development teams to elicit, analyse, and document requirements for new and enhanced enterprise applications. The Business Analyst ensures that solutions align with the overall business strategy, enterprise architecture, and Rolls-Royce's move towards a more efficient and commercially optimised delivery model. They leverage their skills in business process improvement to identify opportunities for optimisation and contribute to the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Fosters strong collaboration between business stakeholders, Product Owners, development teams, and System Integrators, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
- Undertake consulting and business analysis activities, such as interviews, facilitated workshops, business process capture, modelling and improvement, business requirements elicitation and documentation, in order to ensure that the team is able to implement its products in the customer organisation.
- Ensures that developed solutions directly address business needs and align with the overall business strategy and enterprise architecture.
- Contributes to the delivery of high-quality software by ensuring that requirements are clearly defined, documented, and testable.
- Translates high-level requirements into detailed functional and non-functional product requirements / user stories / use cases; gains artefact approval from relevant stakeholders.
- Provides data-driven insights to support informed decision-making by stakeholders.
- Identifies and helps implement process improvements, contributing to a more efficient and cost-effective delivery model within Enterprise Solutions.
- Proactively identifies and analyses risks associated with requirements and proposes mitigation strategies.
- Helps define and track measurable business objectives, demonstrating the value delivered by Enterprise Solutions initiatives.
Skills and Experience:
- Degree level or extensive experience in a similar role.
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of a product and services business model (including working with COTS products).
- Well-developed communication and negotiation skills, including the demonstrated ability to communicate, influence and negotiate outcomes at a senior management level.
- Strong analytical and consultative skills.
- Strong decision maker and personality, able to engage in robust debate and negotiate engineering principles against short-term business pressures.
