Strategic Buyer for a 12-month contract based in Derby.
Please note this position is going to be
hybrid
with a mix of 3 day working from the office and the remaining days working from home. Key Accountabilities: Lead major commercial negotiations on complex claims and near-term contract extensions, protecting our position while creating long-term value.
Develop and deliver a pipeline of cost-out and value-creation initiatives, using commercial, technical, and operational levers to deliver sustained benefits.
Take ownership of supplier relationship management (SRM) with group-level Aerospace suppliers, develop a Key Account Management approach to drive a unified Rolls-Royce action plan and communications.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, championing standard work, lessons learned, and smarter ways of working across the Procurement team.
Provide strong team collaboration on safety, ethics, and compliance, embedding these principles in every aspect of your work.
Qualifications & Skills: A degree in a relevant field or CIPS qualification
with experience of working as a Senior/ Lead Strategic Buyer in a regulated or complex industry demonstrating strong experience in strategic sourcing as well as managing supplier relationships and in-contract supplier management. You will need to have an understanding of risk management and building a resilient supply chain.
Proven track record of successful negotiations, coupled with strong commercial and financial skills with an understanding of Total Cost of Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycles and associated levers/analytics.
Excellent communication, influencing, relationship management skills with focus on drawing value for the company.
Passion to drive change and make a difference combined with ability to solve complex problems, demonstrating digital awareness and analytical capability.
Experience of reviewing and drafting contracts.
