A number of outstanding opportunities have arisen for contract positions within our Engineering Overhaul Services business in Derby. We are looking for Skilled CNC Machinists responsible for the manufacture of aerospace components on a 12-month contract. This role will operate on a 2 shift pattern of earlies and lates.

As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for delivering against weekly targets to meet customer requirements and will work with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain improvement activities within our manufacturing environment.

As a Skilled CNC Machinist, you will be doing:

  • Working to Rolls-Royce's Technical Instructions and program manuals to deliver consistent, high-quality machining across a variety of different components and product families.
  • Operating a variety of inspection equipment, including machine probing, micrometres, and plug gauges.
  • Interpreting manufacturing drawings, customer drawings, and written specifications.
  • Assessing whether the quality of components produced within the facility meets the required standards.

Who we are looking for:

  • Completed an advanced modern engineering apprenticeship and an NVQ/SVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
  • Siemens control system experience is preferred.
  • Experience in 3 and 5-axis grinding, milling, and turning.
  • Previous experience with aerospace components would be an advantage.
  • Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional, and visual inspection.
