On behalf of Rolls-Royce, who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs, we are looking for a Quality Technician for a 12-month initial contract based in Winsford.
Purpose of the Quality Technician role:
- Support the delivery of high-quality products and services across the external supply chain, ensuring compliance with customer, contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Drive quality assurance activities, supplier performance oversight and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product integrity and business performance.
- Play a key role in supporting First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and inspection activities for high-profile engineering projects, ensuring quality standards are consistently achieved.
What you'll do as a Quality Technician:
- Perform accurate and timely inspection of incoming materials, components and products using engineering drawings, specifications and supporting documentation.
- Support and participate in FAIR (First Article Inspection Report) activities, ensuring product and process compliance throughout the supply chain.
- Provide oversight and governance of nominated suppliers to ensure product and service quality requirements are consistently met.
- Monitor, analyse and report on supplier quality performance, identifying risks and recommending improvement actions where required.
- Contribute to project and quality reviews by providing updates on supplier performance, inspection outcomes and non-conformance status.
- Champion quality best practice, continuous improvement initiatives and process enhancements across the business.
- Maintain accurate quality records, inspection reports and associated documentation to support compliance and traceability requirements.
The skills you'll need:
- Proven experience within a Quality Technician, Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or similar quality-focused role.
- Strong inspection experience, including dimensional and visual inspection against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and standards such as ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 would be advantageous.
- Experience investigating non-conformances and applying structured problem-solving and corrective action methodologies.
- Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with confidence using spreadsheets and quality-related reporting tools.
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems and their application within manufacturing environments.
- Highly organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with FAIR activities would be advantageous, although candidates with strong quality inspection and data analysis experience will also be considered.
