We are looking for a Senior Control Systems Verification Engineer for a 12-month contract based in Derby or Solihull on a hybrid working arrangement.
Job Description - The Role
As a Senior Control Systems Verification Engineer, you will work closely with systems, software, hardware, and certification teams to define verification strategies, execute system-level testing, generate certification evidence, and support compliance with aerospace regulatory standards. You will also interface directly with hardware test rigs and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms, ensuring robust verification of complex engine control systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver verification strategies, plans, and testing activities for aerospace control systems, ensuring compliance with system requirements and certification standards.
- Execute verification testing using Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) platforms and test rigs, analysing results and conducting root cause investigations for any failures.
- Create and maintain verification evidence, documentation, requirements traceability, and coverage metrics to support certification and compliance activities.
- Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and certification teams while developing Python-based test automation solutions and contributing to technical reviews and verification improvements.
What we require from the candidate:
- Proven experience in control systems verification, validation, or systems working to ARP4754A standards and supporting EASA certification activities.
- Strong understanding of the verification lifecycle strategies and systems engineering principles.
- Experience working with hardware-based testing environments, test rigs, or Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for test development and automation.
- Experience within defence programmes and ITAR-controlled environments.
- Current SC Clearance or eligibility to obtain clearance.
