We are looking for a Skilled Welder for a 12-month contract based in Inchinnan on behalf of Rolls-Royce who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet's vital power needs.
Please note that this role is going to be on a rotating shift pattern that will include mornings, afternoons and nights.
What you'll do:
- Maintaining our excellent quality standards, being an integral part of our manufacturing process.
- Welding of Nickel, Steel and Alloys using various processes including TIG welding in accordance with defined specifications and procedures, as detailed within the Manufacturing Instructions and Data Cards.
- The role will require you to work to tight tolerances; experience of this will need to be demonstrated at interview.
- Work within strict HS&E guidelines, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
- A basic IT knowledge is essential.
The skills you'll need:
- Completed a recognised time-served apprenticeship including City and Guilds, NVQ3 or equivalent in an engineering discipline. (Original trade papers must be available for review at interview).
- Experience of Welding to Aerospace standards.
- Experience in working with Nickels/Steels and Alloys.
- Ability to read and interpret design drawings (considered an asset).
- Professional and flexible attitude, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels.
- Able and willing to work a multi-shift pattern including nights.
- Be self-motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative or as part of a team.
- Understand how to maintain a clean and safe environment in the workplace and how to work to set deadlines to achieve performance targets.
- An up-to-date working knowledge of health, safety (including COSHH) and environmental procedures.
