At present, we are looking for a Senior Design Engineer who has strong experience in complex mechanical subsystem design and integration projects. The Senior Design Engineer will be on an initial 12-month contract working on a hybrid basis at their Derby site. This is a Design Integrator role within the Product Design group for Combustion and Turbines Systems. This position is customer-facing, requiring excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Leading and supporting subsystem design integration across turbine projects.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth engineering integration.
- Conducting data analysis and applying reliability and statistical methods to support design decisions.
- Performing root-cause analysis to resolve technical issues.
- Contributing to systems engineering activities throughout the product lifecycle.
- Supporting continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across teams.
What we require for the Senior Design Engineer position:
- Proven experience in a Senior Design Engineer position, having systems integration experience within complex mechanical systems.
- Strong understanding of engineering integration principles.
- Experience with data analysis, reliability, and statistical tools.
- Ability to work across multiple teams and manage cross-project collaboration.
- Analytical mindset with a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
- Ideally, experience in aerospace engines or other gas-turbine based products.
