Our Contingent Workforce Solution (CWS) is one of our service offerings; we act as an extension of Rolls-Royce's recruitment team and provide professional interim and temporary resources.
We are looking for a number of Buyers for a 12 months contract based in Derby. Please note this role is going to be hybrid (3 days/week working from the office and the remaining days working from home).
Purpose of the role: The role will sit within the Overhaul Aftermarket Procurement team who support the overhaul (MRO) of engines that are in service with customers. You will manage the vendors for the Overhaul work packages from the initial stages of the process through to the end stage tracking contractual adherence.
What you'll do:
- Lead contract management, including drafting, negotiating, and updating agreements with suppliers to ensure compliance and optimise terms.
- Identify potential risks and liabilities inherent in contracts and propose and negotiate contract (including amendments and supplemental agreements) to mitigate such commercial risks within the supply chain to ensure continuity and resilience.
- Interface with internal specialist departments and lead resolution across internal and external stakeholders on issues such as overhaul work scopes.
- Develop and lead negotiations, performing cost analysis by creating Total Cost or Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycle Models, and building business cases that meet the client's cost objectives.
- Managing supplier relationships and in contract supplier management, including supplier performance management, leading cost reduction activities, and resolving commercial issues.
The skills you'll need:
- Experience of complex contracts with multiple and sometimes interacting commercial mechanisms, including: two types of overhaul labour scopes with different chargeable rates; directed buy provisions to interact with other vendors; escalation provisions; test fees; labour hours caps/fixes and reduction plans.
- Experience of working as a buyer demonstrating strong experience in strategic sourcing as well as managing supplier relationships and in-contract supplier management.
- Complex internal stakeholder management.
- Strong analytical and numerical capability, with a proven ability to synthesise large volumes of data, extract key insights and translate complexity into clear, compelling narratives.
- Background environment within large complex enterprises.
- Technologies in SAP and Excel.
- Proven track record of successful negotiations, coupled with strong commercial and financial skills with an understanding of Total Cost of Acquisition/Product Cost Lifecycles and associated levers/analytics.
- A degree in a relevant field or CIPS qualification.
- Excellent communication, influencing, relationship management skills with focus on drawing value for the company.
- Passion to drive change and make a difference combined with ability to solve complex problems, demonstrating digital awareness and analytical capability.
