We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Manufacturing Engineer Manager to join our team in Derby. Where a Chief of Digital Manufacturing is not in place, you will act as the Digital Manufacturing and Data Technical Authority within the business, working closely with Information Technology, Design and Operations functions across the commodity and production lifecycles.
You will lead the execution of Digital Manufacturing projects for a part of a business or in a small business (internal and external supply chain) which deliver the Commodity and Production Twin systems to realise the business strategy. The Digital Manufacturing Engineer Manager will ensure that the digital systems within the business are developed and deployed to support Right First Time manufacture. You will ensure compliance to all relevant company, legislative and technical policies and standards, including Export Control, Intellectual Property and Cyber Security requirements.
Your responsibility is to develop capability, execute projects which deliver business innovation in Digital Manufacturing through the development of digital skills (at all levels in the organisation), processes and technology aligned to a clear Digital Manufacturing strategy. This will include fixing, improving and transforming current and future digital capability in line with the Systems of Record, Differentiation and Innovation framework and corporate roadmaps/architecture to deliver transformative manufacturing capability.
What you will be doing:
- Promote a culture of zero defects within the organisation.
- Responsible for ensuring that digital systems risks are understood and mitigated, and for promoting a product safety culture in the organisation.
- Contribute to the development of the digital manufacturing strategy for the business, connecting strategy, design, supply chain, operations and technology stakeholders along with technology partnerships and suppliers to create digital manufacturing strategies and roadmaps.
- Build external relationships.
- Identify, synthesise, and govern the requirements for improvements and innovations in digital manufacturing processes, systems and technologies.
- Deploy mechanisms to govern the achievement of Digital Manufacturing deliverables, report status, and ensure issues and risks are resolved to meet project timescales.
- Deploy and implement standardised Digital Manufacturing processes and technologies working across the Commodity and Production lifecycle with Design and Operations functions, ensuring business readiness in terms of people and process change to maximise the business benefit.
- Operate as an active member of the global Digital Manufacturing leadership team, supporting cross-business and sector collaboration, knowledge sharing, skills and process development to best utilise the available resources to deliver business needs and priorities.
- Act as professional leader of the Digital Manufacturing community within their area of responsibility, ensuring required competences are in place and promoting the development and growth of the community.
