Configuration Engineer (In Service) β Submarines. Full Time (On Site). Derby. An exciting In-Service Configuration Engineer opportunity has arisen for a talented engineer to join our team in our Service Data Centre / Availability Centre, based at Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby.
As the In-Service Configuration Engineer, you will actively track, assess, and manage Rolls-Royce Submarines assets through configuration software and multi-site collaboration assisting in the nuclear deterrent operating as efficiently, and safely as possible.

Responsibilities
As an In-Service Configuration Engineer, you will be:
- Managing and maintaining configuration records of all submarines currently in-build or in-service.
- Deliver, author / technical checking of configuration control documentation as required by the business.
- Management of life limited components fitted on submarines.
- Liaise with site office to ensure a current and up to date record of boat asset inventory and serviceability status during maintenance periods.
- Make continual improvements to Maximo / In-Service Configuration processes.
- Respond to queries within the business to provide configuration guidance when required and support resolution of problems with the in-service and in-build fleet.

- An Engineering background ideally in Manufacturing or Process or Design with an understanding or experience of managing the configuration of an in-service product/asset.
- Experience of inputting and manipulating data in database systems (such as IBM Maximo and Cognos), or Microsoft Office based applications (e.g. Excel and Access, and Power BI).
- Customer focussed with capable communication and influencing skills working with all levels of stakeholders
- Ideally qualified to HND/ foundation degree / degree level, in engineering, or significant engineering experience.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Submarines business an individual has to hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently already have this in place.
