We are currently seeking applications for a highly motivated English|Social Studies Teacher in a fixed-term, full-time position to cover a staff member on parental leave from 20th July 2026 to 15th December 2026. The role is part of Rolleston College, a state secondary school committed to restorative practice, learner‑centred education, and collaborative learning.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and learner‑centred English (and Social Studies) lessons across years 7–15.
- Cultivate a positive learning community and collaborate with colleagues to support contextual learning.
- Provide mentoring and academic counselling to students within the whānau system.
Qualifications:
- NZ‑registered teacher.
- Certificated in Secondary (Years 7–15) or equivalent.
- Proven experience of learner‑centred, collaborative, flexible and responsive teaching.
- Strong commitment to restorative practice and student well‑being.
- Excitement about working in a flexible, responsive learning environment.
- Ability to state all supporting subjects on application.
