City2Coast Primary Federation is a group of four coastal schools, two city schools and a special resource base providing education for primary school children aged 2 to 11 years. We are looking for a versatile, resilient and committed Teaching Assistant with experience and skills supporting children with Special Educational Needs to join our team in reception/year 1 at Rollesby Primary School.

The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher and other teaching assistants, assisting the children in their work and play, supporting with pupil behaviour and establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs. You will work as a member of a friendly and committed staff in a supportive environment where teamwork is valued.

Personal qualities are of paramount importance, and the person appointed will be expected to display patience, enthusiasm, energy, good humour, flexibility, and reliability. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

Hours of work: 08:50 to 12:15, Monday to Friday.

Requirements:

  • Can follow plans and work on own initiative
  • Has strong relationship building skills and techniques
  • Is passionate about helping children reach their potential despite challenges
  • Can communicate clearly with children and adults, verbally and in writing
  • Has experience of working with all ages of children in primary school
  • Is able to support a range of abilities including pupils with SEND
  • Can work both with a small group and on a 1:1 basis with pupils
  • Possibility to step up to HLTA
  • Able to adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines
  • Able to maintain confidentiality
  • Is confident in supporting good behaviour management skills
  • Has a desire to participate in school and Federation CPD opportunities
  • Has a full understanding of Safeguarding
  • Is willing to travel to other school sites as required
