Role Overview

We are looking for a Legal Counsel with 3-6 PQE and a solid background in corporate law. Reporting directly to the Senior and General Counsel, you will provide pragmatic legal advice across the business, supporting a broad range of corporate and commercial activities.

The Legal Counsel position is based in our London office, but the work will be worldwide in scope. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with colleagues from finance, operations, commercial and technical management, as well as interact with service providers, external legal counsel, and senior management. Work will vary depending on business needs, ranging from advisory to transactional. The role will require working independently and as part of a team on multi-jurisdictional issues, listed company requirements, and projects such as business or asset acquisitions, joint ventures, debt and equity finance, and capital markets transactions. This position offers unparalleled exposure to high‑calibre, varied workflow in a highly professional but friendly environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of corporate and commercial contracts, including shareholder agreements, joint ventures, and service agreements.
  • Advising on corporate governance, company secretarial matters, and compliance issues.
  • Supporting M&A transactions, restructurings, and other strategic corporate projects.
  • Assisting with legal risk management across the organisation’s operations.
  • Liaising with external counsel where required, ensuring efficient and cost-effective support.
  • Providing general in-house legal support to business teams, balancing risk management with commercial objectives.

Key Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England & Wales (or equivalent common law jurisdiction).
  • 3-6 PQE gained at a reputable law firm, with a strong foundation in corporate law.
  • Experience in M&A, corporate governance, and general commercial contracts.
  • Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to work proactively with business stakeholders.
