Your role as a Warehouse Operative at our site in Barton under Needwood will be part of a successful team committed to supporting a high-profile customer. This is a critical role within the operation and directly contributes towards the efficiency and effectiveness of the team and operation. The rotating shift times for this position are 06:00 to 14:00 and 14:00 to 22:00, with a total salary of up to £28,836.72 per annum including a base package of £25,836.72 plus up to £3,000 per year in monthly supplements and bonuses depending on performance, attendance, and manual handling equipment usage. You will be working within a temperature‑controlled warehouse, ensuring a comfortable environment all year round. The operation holds strong standards, has an inclusive team culture, and a continued focus on building a diverse workforce. The role is designed around safe handling and sensible limits, with minimal manual lifting, and mechanical handling equipment available where required (with full training and support provided).
What are you going to do? The role will focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and compliance across the warehouse by carrying out hygiene duties, waste management, equipment operation, and routine compliance checks. This role ensures the facility remains audit‑ready and aligned with company and regulatory standards.
- Carry out routine cleaning and hygiene activities across all warehouse areas
- Ensure aisles, workspaces, and storage locations are clean, organised, and hazard‑free
- Manage waste streams, including segregation and disposal, in accordance with site procedures
- Operate and maintain baling equipment safely for cardboard and recyclable materials
- Ensure waste areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with environmental requirements
- Safely operate scrubber machines to clean warehouse floors
- Perform basic checks and maintenance on cleaning equipment to ensure operational readiness
- Carry out routine compliance checks in line with internal standards and external regulations
- Support audit preparation and ensure records are accurately maintained
- Identify and report any non‑compliance issues, risks or faults to the Compliance Team
- Carry out additional warehouse operative duties as required to support business needs
- Ensure waste is handled efficiently and in compliance with guidelines
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of hygiene and facility standards
