Fully Remote Applicants must be based in the UK. Have you got the Shopify edge? We’re looking for a truly outstanding Shopify Plus developer to take a leading role in growing our global network of Medik8 stores. You will also have the opportunity to build lots of custom code to create interactive UX journeys. It goes without saying that this role requires a very strong level of JavaScript, Liquid and CSS experience. A keen eye for design and a passion for delighting users with every click and pixel are also essential. As a Shopify Plus Developer expert, you will work closely with the Global Digital Director and the wider development team to create an engaging and knowledgeable online shop that will elevate Medik8 and enhance client engagement and conversion.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Offer new compelling features through the installation and configuration of Shopify extensions and the customisation of applications
  • Work with the UX and UI Design Teams to create unique, strong, and inventive front‑end user experiences
  • Responsible for optimising site performance, UX, and driving greater conversions
  • Own ongoing site maintenance, expansion and scaling
  • Cooperate with in‑house design & marketing teams to gather and refine specifications and requirements for development
  • Ensure a smooth connection with Marketing Tools, Platform APIs, and Shopify Apps to optimise the shop for overall efficiency and functionality
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to enhance operations and activities
  • Have ownership over projects while also ensuring collaboration with every team to meet deadlines

The successful candidate will:

  • Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills, with emphasis on modern JavaScript (especially web components)
  • In‑depth Shopify theme development experience, including Liquid and Online Store 2.0 (JSON templates, sections, metafields/metaobjects)
  • Ability to work in and improve an existing codebase: refactoring, bug fixing, and incremental improvements
  • Git‑based workflows (branches, pull requests, collaborative development)
  • Comfortable working with APIs and third‑party integrations
  • Experience working in a structured delivery environment where changes are reviewed, tested, and QA’d prior to release

Nice to haves:

  • Shopify app development experience, including app integration, support, and smaller‑scale custom solutions
  • GraphQL familiarity for Shopify Admin and Storefront APIs
  • Experience with Checkout UI extensions and Shopify Functions
