This is a genuine build opportunity within an established, globally recognised green energy recruitment business that has been trading for 16 years. The clients are already here. The candidate network is already here. The Advisory Council of 20 senior industry experts is already making introductions. Over 900 active client organisations are accessible from day one, with a business development plan already mapped for year one.
What the business now needs is someone who can bring all of that together and build a high-performing, scalable interim and fractional leadership practice around it. This is not a cold-start desk.
The opportunity:
- Working closely with the COO, you will develop and launch a global interim and fractional brand across EMEA, establish the go-to-market strategy, build the operating model, hire and lead a team, and grow a profitable practice placing senior interim and fractional leaders across:
- Finance
- Investment
- Transformation
- Strategy
- Operations
- Central Functions
- You will be placing senior professionals into investors, infrastructure platforms, developers, funds, portfolio companies and scaling energy businesses, converting an established and trusted client base into a structured, high-margin interim business.
- The existing contract recruitment infrastructure means that compliance, payrolling and insurance processes for placing interim professionals globally are already in place, removing one of the most significant barriers to launching a practice from scratch.
- Mapped potential to build a £2 million desk within the first two years, with a team of four to six to grow over three years.
- The business also has a clear growth strategy and a potential sale/exit plan over the next three to four years. For the right person, this creates a genuine opportunity to secure a meaningful stake in the business and benefit from the value created through a future transaction. This is not just a job with equity in a sub-brand. This is a route to participating in a significant commercial event.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the EMEA strategy for the Interim and Fractional Leadership business
- Work with the COO to shape the global brand, proposition, operating model and client strategy
- Convert existing senior client relationships into interim and fractional mandates
- Build candidate communities of senior interim leaders, fractional executives and transformation specialists
- Create a repeatable sales, delivery and account management model for interim assignments
- Partner with existing global teams to cross-sell interim solutions into established client relationships
- Build, hire and lead a specialist interim team
- Represent the business externally as a senior market leader through events, content, networking and personal brand activity
- Build a profitable, scalable business unit with clear revenue, margin and headcount targets
The ideal candidate:
- This is a role for a builder. Someone who can take an established platform, strong relationships and a clear market opportunity and turn it into a scalable interim business.
- Experienced senior interim 360 consultant, principal level or above, with a track record of placing at C-suite and senior leadership level including interim CEO, CFO, COO, CRO, Chief People Officer and interim Managing Director
- Strong track record in interim, executive search, senior recruitment, consulting or professional services
- Experience selling to senior decision-makers across investors, infrastructure, energy, finance, transformation or corporate leadership
- Proven record of revenue generation and/or building a profitable team
- Strong understanding of interim, fractional or project-based hiring
- The ambition to build something bigger than a desk and the confidence to influence the direction of a growing business
- An existing network within energy, clean technology or adjacent sectors is a strong advantage, though not a prerequisite
What is on offer:
- Base salary negotiable depending on experience
- Uncapped bonus and commission
- Equity stake as the function grows
- Genuine participation in long-term value creation through a potential future exit/sale
- Healthcare, electric car scheme and enhanced holidays
- London based, hybrid working
- Direct reporting line to COO with CEO access
- Full backing to build your team, personal brand and market presence
- Flexible start date
Interview process:
Two stages with the COO and CEO. All conversations are treated in complete confidence.
