THE COMPANY:
Roland Europe Group Ltd is a world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of electronic musical instruments including keyboards, synthesisers, guitar products, electronic percussion kits, digital recording equipment, amplifiers and audio processing devices. You'll be part of a dynamic team, where we believe in kindness, support, acceptance, and hard work and try to provide room for personal development for everyone. At Roland, you will find a friendly, down-to-earth atmosphere. You'll work for a company with global activities, but it doesn't feel corporate. We are always looking for colleagues who have an enthusiastic, positive and driven personality. People who are eager to further develop and challenge themselves. If you also have a passion for Roland, our products or music in general, you might just be our perfect match.
THE POSITION:
Do you have a passion for music and a desire to share your enthusiasm with others? Do you play to a good standard? Do you have a solid understanding of current music technology? Can you deliver fantastic customer experiences, in store, on the phone or online —and great results—working alongside an experienced retail team? If you can answer “yes” to all of the above, we want to hear from you. Our Roland and BOSS showroom on Denmark Street in central London showcases the very best of our products to new, aspiring and experienced musicians alike.
As a Roland Store Product Specialist, your job is to take someone’s aspirations and turn them into reality by showing them the perfect products from Roland, BOSS or V-MODA, through demonstrations, via instore and online events with product “gurus” or artists, and through regular social media activity.
We’re looking for a Roland Store Product Specialist who really understands customers and can help find the perfect solution to their needs. Knowledge around current products and related technologies is important. Events, workshops or 1-2-1 discussions — whether online or instore—are a key part of attracting customers to the Roland Store. Whether livestreaming, offering hints, tips and advice, or hosting an instore event with a local artist, your ability to deliver exciting events, presentations or engaging conversations for customers is essential; you need to be as comfortable in front of the camera, or on the telephone as you are face-to-face in the store.
You will, of course, be an accomplished and skilled salesperson, with a desire to grow the retail business while consistently delivering Roland’s high standards of customer service. You’ll also need to perform the usual requirements of running a retail store; from presentation to stock control, to regular reporting.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- The ability to deliver a fantastic customer-focused experience in a busy environment, whether online or offline, resulting in sales growth.
- A strong interest in music, with the ability to play piano/keys, guitar or drums to the equivalent of Grade 5 standard.
- A good understanding of music technology as well as the ability to absorb new information readily and easily; and be able to pass this knowledge on to others.
- Sales experience, ideally in a retail environment.
- The communication skills to comfortably converse, build relationships and interact appropriately with individuals, customers, and the wider Roland/BOSS team at all levels.
- The ability to react to challenges while remaining calm.
- The confidence and organisational skills to manage all aspects of a busy retail environment.
