We are supporting one of Surrey's leading independent firms of accountants that are now looking for a bookkeeper with strong Xero experience to join their team in a client facing role that will assist with general bookkeeping and VAT plus will support with systems implementations / migrations. As a very unique new role, this position offers a bookkeeper an excellent opportunity to support a range of clients with traditional support, whilst also providing training and assistance on modern accounting systems / software. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform and review a mix of bookkeeping tasks and the preparation of VAT returns in support of a range of clients.
  • Act as the main point of contact for your clients, answering queries and resolving issues where necessary.
  • Provide training and assistance to clients on the use of modern accounting software, mainly Xero.
  • Play an active part in the transition or migration of client information onto Xero.
  • Support colleagues with queries relating to client bookkeeping and modern accounting software.

Requirements

  • Ideally AAT Qualified, although individuals with strong experience will be considered.
  • Strong experience with Xero is essential.
  • Ideally you'll also have knowledge of other systems such as QuickBooks, Sage and Dext amongst others.
  • Bookkeeping experience gained within an accountancy practice or client service environment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to take responsibility for your own tasks and client portfolio.
