Do you have a passion for music and a desire to share your enthusiasm with others? Do you play piano/keyboard to a good standard, perhaps in addition to other instruments? Do you have a solid understanding of current music technology? Can you deliver fantastic customer experiences in store, on the phone or online—and great results—working alongside an experienced retail team? If you can answer yes to all of the above, we want to hear from you.

Role purpose

As a Roland Store Product Specialist, you will assume responsibility for our new Store in Store at Fair Deal Music in Birmingham. Your job is to really understand our customers and turn their aspirations into reality. You’ll engage in one-to-one discussions (online and in-store), demonstrate products from Roland and BOSS, host exciting in-store and online events, and maintain active social media activity. Gathering appropriate customer information to ensure a continued customer journey with Roland will be central to the role. You will also ensure that our host’s website reflects our brand, products and Store in Store, to the required standards, and you’ll perform the usual requirements of running a retail store, including presentation, stock control, and regular reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-to-one discussions (online and in-store) and demonstrate Roland and BOSS products.
  • Deliver engaging in-store and online events and maintain regular social media activity.
  • Gather customer information to support ongoing customer journey with Roland.
  • Ensure the host’s website reflects the brand, products, and Store in Store to required standards.
  • Perform general retail store duties: presentation, stock control, and regular reporting.

Experience & Skills Required

  • The ability to deliver a fantastic customer-focused experience, online or offline.
  • Comfortable in front of the camera, on the telephone, and face-to-face in-store.
  • Strong interest in music with the ability to do hands-on demonstrations. Not a virtuoso required, but capable of playing with confidence and presenting products well.
  • Being able to play piano and keyboard to a good standard is particularly important; playing drums is a bonus.
  • Good understanding of music technology and the ability to absorb and share knowledge with others.
  • Accomplished and skilled salesperson, ideally with retail experience, with a desire to grow the retail business.
  • Strong communication skills to converse, build relationships, and interact with customers and the Roland/BOSS team at all levels.
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and implementing events (online or offline) using social media channels is ideal.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently to ensure the success of the Store in Store.
  • Ability to stay calm and adapt to challenges; strong organizational skills to manage a busy retail environment.
