Position Purpose
As a Consultant at Roland Berger UK, you will be at the heart of solving complex strategic challenges across a range of industries. We are looking for individuals with a strong STEM background — particularly in Engineering — and demonstrable experience in due diligence, to join our dynamic and collaborative team. You will contribute to a range of projects, from commercial due diligence and performance improvement to broader strategy work, predominantly across Industrial and Regulated and Infrastructure clients. You’ll work directly with senior consultants, client executives, and industry experts, delivering high-impact analysis and strategic insight that supports key business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including expert interviews, client workshops, and market analysis
- Lead and support the development of commercial and operational due diligence assessments
- Build and structure complex financial and operational models to assess investment or strategic opportunities
- Analyse large datasets and translate them into clear, actionable insights
- Prepare and deliver high-quality presentations and reports for clients and internal stakeholders
- Engage in the development of intellectual capital and support recruitment and training activities
- Participate actively in team problem-solving sessions and contribute to project delivery logistics
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
Education & Experience:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (Engineering preferred; also open to Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, etc.)
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, investment analysis, due diligence, or related roles (internships included)
- Exposure to sectors such as industrials, energy, infrastructure, or technology is an advantage
Skills & Attributes:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesise complex information
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience in financial modelling and data analysis is essential
- Excellent communication skills — both written and verbal — with the ability to engage clients confidently
- Proactive, intellectually curious, and highly motivated
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in both independent and team-based environments
