About the team: The Platform Quality Engineering team is responsible for driving the strategy, execution and continued management of reliable and efficient automated testing across all Roku product launches and software releases. The team owns and maintains test plans, accelerates automation and optimizes backlog, fixes broken tests and develops tools to improve efficiencies and bring QA teams to work closer together. The team works cross-functionally within Roku and with external partners to accommodate the needs of various teams.

About the role: We are looking for a passionate and energetic Senior Technical Program Manager who has experience with product, and possesses a pragmatic, strategic approach to problem-solving. The successful candidate will be smart, hands-on, a good team player, and interested in delivering high quality software on time to ensure customer satisfaction. This position requires an energetic and self-motivated individual with excellent communication, organization, and technical skills to work cross-functionally. The role will suit someone who can communicate at all levels of management. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys a high level of independence, visibility, and responsibility. The successful candidate will be a team player, who can expertly manage high volumes of detail and thrives on managing multiple complex technical projects running in parallel. They will possess the expertise and determination to ensure their projects stay on target with quality, schedule, and overall cost goals from concept to delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Driving execution of multiple internal projects, guiding design, development, and launch.
  • Engaging at a detailed technical level with engineering teams to deliver a software release or feature.
  • Listening, building consensus, deciding on specifics, and clarifying requirements.
  • Developing and tracking detailed project schedules for software development, testing, roll-out and ensuring projects remain on track.
  • Building strong relationships across the organization. Being an authoritative figure on your release or feature, whilst ensuring an approachable demeanor.
  • Ensuring consistent communication with relevant stakeholders. Documenting decisions, issues, and actions clearly and concisely.
  • Closing the loop. For a given project, figuring out relevant metrics and driving the build of tools to measure and report on it. Feeding insights back into product development and design processes.
  • Developing and continually refining processes to ensure effective and efficient execution.
  • Facilitating communications across the company to ensure transparency of progress and risks, maintaining plan-of-record, and providing appropriate and timely updates.
  • Handling multiple concurrent projects with a high level of detail and organization.
  • Working closely with external vendors and partners to manage their support as applicable.

We’re excited if you have:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field.
  • 10+ years of software and program/project management across multiple organizations.
  • Exposure to projects involving hardware and/or device engineering.
  • PMP certification/Project management training, covering key requirements for effective project management.
  • Extensive experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.) and other Project management software applications.
  • Hands-on experience with the software development lifecycle, embedded systems a strong plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills are required.
  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills.
  • Ideally prior work experience in product/software company.
