Teamwork makes the stream work. Roku is changing how the world watches TV. Roku is the #1 TV streaming platform in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and we've set our sights on powering every television in the world. Roku pioneered streaming to the TV. Our mission is to be the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem. We connect consumers to the content they love, enable content publishers to build and monetize large audiences, and provide advertisers unique capabilities to engage consumers. From your first day at Roku, you'll make a valuable - and valued - contribution. We're a fast-growing public company where no one is a bystander. We offer you the opportunity to delight millions of TV streamers around the world while gaining meaningful experience across a variety of disciplines.

About the Team: At Roku, the Technical Operations team is the platform's first line of defense — a global, around-the-clock organization responsible for the health and stability of the Roku Channel and the systems that power it. With engineers across the US, Canada, Mexico, and India, TechOps monitors ad delivery, CDN infrastructure, live feeds, and content pipelines 24/7, triaging and resolving issues before they reach viewers. The team sits at the intersection of Engineering, Content Operations, Live Operations, and Advertising — owning escalation paths, SLA frameworks, and high-visibility launch support. Beyond incident response, TechOps invests in automation and tooling to reduce toil and scale with the platform. As Roku's ecosystem grows, we're building smarter operations to match. The platform never sleeps, and neither do we!

About the role: Roku pioneered TV streaming and continues to innovate and lead the industry. The Roku Channel has us well-positioned to help shape the future of streaming. Continued success relies on investing in our internal financial controls and processes. Roku is seeking a Technical Operations Engineer as part of the Technical Operations Department responsible for the end-user experience of the Roku platform, including TRC (The Roku Channel). You will be working as part of our Global Technical Operations team with the unique opportunity to interact with many different aspects of Roku including live Operations, advertising operations, Editorial, Engineering, and Customer support.

For this role, we are seeking someone with a good understanding of the AdTech space. You will support, troubleshoot, and triage issues relating to advertising on the Roku platform. An understanding of Server-Side Ad Insertion (SSAI) is desirable.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Prioritise issues for engineering to resolve and facilitate communication to operational and business stakeholders.
  • Work with the broader technical operations team to support Roku infrastructure including Ad services.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to resolve day-to-day issues; some data analysis work will be needed.

We’re excited if you have:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant technical experience in video or related technology disciplines.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues and work with engineering and business owners.
  • Resolve problems independently and follow documented escalation procedures.
  • Comfortable and adaptable in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
  • Interface with internal and external customers in a polite, positive, and professional manner.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, methodical and committed to driving quality forward.
  • Familiar with the Entertainment industry (or being a fan of movie/TV).
  • Knowledge of consumer product and user interfaces and networking functionality is a plus.
  • Willing to work flexible hours including nights and/or weekends.
  • Bachelor Degree or relevant work experience required.

What should I know about Roku's culture? Roku is a great place for people who want to work in a fast-paced environment where everyone is focused on the company's success rather than their own. We try to surround ourselves with people who are great at their jobs, who are easy to work with, and who keep their egos in check. We appreciate a sense of humour. We believe a fewer number of very talented folks can do more for less cost than a larger number of less talented teams. We're independent thinkers with big ideas who act boldly, move fast and accomplish extraordinary things through collaboration and trust. In short, at Roku you'll be part of a company that's changing how the world watches TV. We have a unique culture that we are proud of. We think of ourselves primarily as problem-solvers, which itself is a two-part idea. We come up with the solution, but the solution isn't real until it is built and delivered to the customer. That penchant for action gives us a pragmatic approach to innovation, one that has served us well since 2002.

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
