Our client, a well established precision engineering company, is looking to recruit an experienced CNC Turner to join their growing manufacturing team on a permanent day shift.

TheCNC Turner Role

As a CNC Turner, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture precision-engineered components to exact customer specifications. Working from engineering drawings, you will produce high-quality parts to tight tolerances while maintaining excellent standards of workmanship and efficiency.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with precision components in a modern machining environment.

CNC TurnerKey Responsibilities

  • Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes with Fanuc controls.
  • Manufacturing precision components using a brand-new CMZ CNC Lathe.
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • Producing components to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
  • Selecting appropriate tooling and machining methods.
  • Carrying out in-process inspection to ensure components meet specification.
  • Machining a variety of engineering materials.
  • Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work area.
  • Working closely with colleagues to achieve production targets and delivery schedules.

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Previous experience as a CNC Turner.
  • Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
  • Strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls.
  • The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Experience machining precision components to demanding tolerances.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

Desirable Skills

The following experience would be advantageous but is not essential:

  • Manufacturing components for the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Offline programming.
  • Experience with live tooling.
  • Machining a range of materials including stainless steel, carbon steel, alloys and other specialist materials.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday: 8:00am 4:30pm

Friday: 8:00am 1:00pm
