The role is a permanent, term‑time‑only office administrator/receptionist position at Rokeby School, a highly successful independent preparatory school in Surrey. You will serve as the first point of contact for visitors and families, providing an exemplary reception service, handling telephone and email enquiries, and supporting pupils throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and sign in visitors.
- Greet visitors and answer the phone.
- Manage telephone and email enquiries and liaise with parents.
- Provide day‑to‑day support to pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Maintain attendance registers and follow up on absences.
- Offer first‑aid care to pupils (training will be provided).
Qualifications
- Experience as a receptionist, customer service professional or administrator.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, ICT and organisational skills.
- Calm under pressure and approachable.
- Experience in an educational environment is an advantage but not essential.
Working Hours & Schedule
Hours are 7.30am to 4.30pm, including a paid lunch break. Two Saturday mornings per year are required for Prize Day and Open Morning. The role covers 185 working days per year (equivalent to 37 weeks); it is term‑time‑only plus two weeks during school holidays.
Pay & Benefits
Salary: £30,000 – £32,000 FTE (£27,507 – £29,340 actual).
