Roke is a world-class technology and engineering consultancy. Roke delivers advanced research, development services and products to high profile Defence, National Security and Government customers who come to Roke with varied and challenging problems to solve.
The Senior Software Project Manager (PM) is responsible for overseeing the development, integration, and deployment of defence, National Security and commercial software solutions and consultancy. This includes ensuring compliance with industry regulations across these domains, stakeholder support and expectation management, and delivering high-quality, secure, and scalable software within specified timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
- Support delivery of software and consultancy supporting product roadmaps and translating customer requirements into scope, objectives, timelines and operational requirements.
- Support both agile and waterfall delivery methodologies, as project requirements dictate.
- Liaise with clients, defence and government agencies.
- Develop and support efficient delivery through planning, schedules and control of project budget and resource.
- Coordinate with software engineers, system architects and consultants.
- Ensure Quality Management Systems are implemented and enforced – [Knowledge of ISO9001 useful].
- Project level risk management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Knowledge of Agile and waterfall methodologies aligned to Scrum and P3M respectively.
- Experience with customer facing roles ideally in the software development and delivery domain.
- Experience of AWS and cloud based delivery methodologies and associated budgetary control of such services.
- Experience with Atlassian tooling (Jira / Confluence).
- Agile PM practitioner, APM (PMQ) or equivalent qualification / accreditation desirable.
- Change management experience (Desirable).
