We are looking for a talented and inquisitive Security Research Engineer to join our team in Romsey. You will work at the cutting edge of cyber security, researching, developing, and prototyping innovative solutions to protect systems against sophisticated threats. You will be responsible for:
- Conducting in-depth research into emerging cyber security threats, vulnerabilities, and attack techniques
- Designing and developing novel security solutions, tools, and prototypes
- Performing vulnerability analysis, reverse engineering, and security assessments across a range of platforms
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to transition research into real-world capabilities
- Contributing to technical reports, whitepapers, and customer deliverables
- Staying ahead of the latest developments in cyber security, sharing insights with the wider team
Required Skills:
Essential:
- Strong background in cyber security, computer science, or a related discipline
- Experience with one or more of the following: Reverse engineering, Exploit development, Malware analysis, Secure software development
- Proficiency in programming (e.g., C/C++, Python, or similar)
- Understanding of operating systems, networks, and system architecture
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Experience with embedded systems, mobile platforms, or cloud security
- Knowledge of cryptography or secure communications
- Familiarity with vulnerability research tools and frameworks
- Previous experience in a research or innovation environment
Where you’ll work: ROMSEY – Located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the picturesque New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. This is no corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site, with ample parking, an on-site gym and a driveway full of daffodils in the spring.
Clearances: Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve DV clearance.
