You will be the point of contact in the business for planning the manufacture of our products. You will liaise with cross-departmental stakeholders to understand the manufacturing needs, undertake materials planning and ensure that materials reach production on time. You will be responsible for work in progress, use of inventory, stock takes and issuing documents for the production team.
Primary Job Purpose- Ensure all customer product orders are realised for On Time Delivery In Full
- Plan the workload, materials and tooling for all build demands
- Raise external requirements to build on subcontractors and suppliers
- Liaise with Sales and Programme Management to ensure Production Plans are understood and communicated to the rest of the business.
- Liaise with Supply Chain and Engineering to ensure materials plans are in place
- Interpret the recommended MRP requirements and review order recommendations, prior to order placement
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure purchase requisitions are raised timely and materials are delivered on time
- Monitor job status in conjunction with the production and procurement teams
- Work closely with the Commercial, Support and Project Management teams to provide regular project updates, stock and order information, along with opportunities for improvement
- Work closely with Engineering teams to ensure system compliance with relevant change notices and current build status
- Liaise with Finance and support end of month cycle counting, WIP reporting and material audits
- Identify and support with MRP material planning business improvement activities
- Provide support to staff on MRP related issues
- Review and replenish consumable items in a timely manner
- Always fully comply with Roke’s policies and procedures
- Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder’s experience and qualifications, as may be required for the smooth operation of the business
- Act as a back-up for Manufacturing Manager when required

They must co-operate with their line manager so that health, safety and environmental responsibilities can be discharged.
Person Specification:Education and Qualifications- Degree qualified preferably
- A minimum of 5 GCSE’s at grade 4 or above (or equivalent)
- A-Level education (or equivalent) in relevant subjects
- Strong computer based literacy
- Experience as a planner in a manufacturing environment for at least 3 years
- Experienced with MRP tools (SAP or IFS would be advantageous)
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing Tools and Techniques
- Experience managing small/medium manufacturing shop floor team will be an advantage
