The IT department sits within the Corporate Services directorate and plays an important part in enabling Roke to deliver customer work. The department provides effective, compliant, secure, and resilient technical infrastructures, allowing our people to work effectively wherever they are based.

Job Purpose & Key Responsibilities

  • A key role in the End User Services (EUS) team, leading in the design, delivery and support of the modern Intune desktop and wider M365 environment.
  • A bridging role between the Platform and EUS teams.
  • Lead in the ongoing development and support of the managed Intune laptop desktop.
  • Primary 3rd line escalation point for the Service Desk.
  • Software packaging and deployment.
  • Ownership of the ongoing vulnerability compliance to align with CE+ & DCC mandated guidelines.
  • Windows operating system support.
  • Basic Linux support / understanding.
  • iOS and Android phone support.
  • Advanced M365 support and administration.
  • Sharepoint support / understanding.
  • Technical leadership in project teams.
  • Work closely with the Head of IT Service, to develop and improve IT service provision, proposing improvements.
  • Develop and maintain high quality technical documentation for use across the wider team.
  • Research and develop solutions to Incidents and Problems as necessary.
  • Engagement with the Change Management Process.
  • Maintain strong relationships with the IT Platform Team.
  • Strive to deliver an excellent level of service to customers at all times.
  • Keep IT management apprised of any ongoing problems.
  • Travel to other Roke sites as necessary.
  • Always fully comply with Roke’s policies and procedures.
  • Undertake such other reasonable duties, commensurate with the job holder’s experience and qualifications, as may be required for the smooth operation of the business.

Education and Qualifications

  • Experience in line with the role requirements.
  • Microsoft certified in any of the following (or similar) would be an advantage:
    • Microsoft 365 Fundamentals / Administrator (MS-900 / MS-102).
    • Endpoint administrator associate (MD-102).
    • Identity and Access Administrator (SC-300).
    • Azure Administrator (AZ-104).
    • ITIL V4 Foundation.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Technical
    • Microsoft OS installation / deployment / Support.
    • Linux OS Installation / Support.
    • Strong Experience of Intune endpoint management.
    • Strong experience in administration across the M365 stack.
    • Understanding of physical infrastructure AD, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLAN’s, Wifi.
    • Familiar with the practical use of Powershell.
    • Corporate mobile phone management.
    • Experience of Request, Incident, Problem and Change Management.
    • Experience of cloud PaaS such as Azure and AWS would be an advantage.
  • General
    • Project participation / task ownership.
    • Excellent communication and networking skills.
    • Ability to produce high quality technical documentation.
    • Strong customer focus.
