Role
- Line Manager for all PMs within the Line of Business (LoB)
- Support the prioritisation and delivery of Projects within the Line of Business to enable delivery of forecast
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, on cost and on quality
- Provide P3M best practice in project end to end lifecycle within the portfolio of projects in the line of business
- Support the creation of LoB Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) enabling end to end delivery of projects
- Keep the LoB Leadership and other key stakeholders appraised of risks, issues and mitigations, escalating appropriately for support
- Ensure project safety and compliance to applicable laws and regulations (e.g. CE/UKCA)
- Own transformation and continuous improvements activities for the Projects full business life-cycle
Accountabilities
- Achievement (on time) of all payment milestones for all projects within the LoB
- Management of project risk budgets for all projects within the LoB and escalation of requests to release risk
- Management of 'spend' on all projects within the LoB, ensuring early escalation of overspend
- Management of the mobilisation of all projects within the LoB
- Maintaining a consistently high-level of delivery confidence across all projects within the Line of Business quickly identifying and mitigating all significant delivery risks and issues and minimising impact
- Risks and issues are to be prioritised and escalated based on impact (e.g. impacting safety or revenue)
- Continually identifying and exploiting opportunities to increase project profitability/margin within existing or new projects
- Work with Engineering and sales functions to support analysis and prioritisation of project backlogs to ensure right capability is available at the right time
- Actively embedding and enforcing compliance with Roke's Delivery Assurance Policy
- Always fully complying with Roke's published policies and procedures
Responsibilities
- Deliver cost and risk estimates (i.e. BAFs) to support Business Winning activity
- Manage the LoB's Strategic Workforce Plan (or PFS forecast as applicable) - working closely with Sales Managers, and SSAs to capture and forecast resource demand for LoB level Captures & Bids
- Ensure that all LoB bids that are not managed by a Bid Manager from the centre are managed in accordance with Roke's bid processes to achieve order intake and revenue targets
- Execute on-contract growth opportunities as 'Opportunity Owner' to achieve order intake and revenue targets
- Weekly (Cascade Comms) and Quarterly (QBR) reporting on delivery across the LoB
- Provide delivery process development leadership into LoBs and DHoE stakeholders to ensure all LoBs are able to deliver project outputs
- Lead direct reports through the performance management processes including performance conversations, career development and performance improvement programmes
- Ensure that support to recruitment is in place against the short and long term demands of the LoB for P3M.
- Ensure that working space requirements for bids and projects across the LoB are escalated via DU Ops
Where will you be based?
Your work will primarily be based at one of Roke's sites - Romsey, Woking or Gloucester, and you will be expected to travel to the sites where your line management team members are based if not your primary site. Occasional business travel to other sites may be required.
