What You’ll Be Doing: Develop and maintain a cloud architecture strategy, including standards, guidelines, and best practices. Design robust, secure, scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant solutions on AWS.Lead and participate in the implementation of cloud solutions, including infrastructure setup, deployment automation, and application migration projects from on-premises or other cloud environments.Implement cloud governance policies, including cost management, security controls, identity and access management (IAM), and compliance frameworks. Ensure cloud environments meet security best practices and regulatory requirements.Continuously monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Identify opportunities for automation and improvement.Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to engineering, operations, and development teams on cloud-related topics. Act as a subject matter expert for cloud technologies within the organization. What You’ll Bring: Proven experience of delivering cloud-based programmes in the Public Sector, National Security or Defence domainsA history of consulting customers throughout the delivery of cloud-based solutionsExposure to security risk analysis and management experience, related to technology platformsDetail orientated in nature, capable of assimilating large quantities of information and spotting risk/opportunity.Deep understanding of core cloud services (compute, storage, networking, databases, security). Examples in AWS: EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, LambdaStrong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, load balancing, firewalls)Experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesSolid understanding of security principles and best practices in the cloudExperience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) Why Join Roke? This is no corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site, with ample parking an on-site gym and a driveway full of daffodils in the spring.
