- Undertaking routine aftercare activities, including the identification, recording, and escalation of security‑related changes or issues.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential personnel security records in accordance with organisational policy and data protection requirements.
- Liaising professionally with employees, managers, and relevant external bodies in relation to personnel security matters.
- Monitoring vetting status and ensuring compliance with contractual, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Assisting with audits, reviews, and assurance activities related to protective security measures.
- Providing administrative and operational support to the wider security team as required including support to physical security activities, such as access control processes, classified material handling and destruction etc.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of security processes and procedures.
- Developing and providing personnel security awareness training.
- Undertaking international travel security risk assessments and providing travellers with briefings.
What would we like from you?
- Good working knowledge of personnel security vetting and aftercare processes.
- Proven ability to identify, assess, and appropriately escalate business and security risks.
- Awareness of basic physical security principles and controls in a Defence company.
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks both independently and as part of a team to deliver outputs effectively and accurately.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues at all levels.
- Professional, discreet, and able to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
- Confident and competent user of IT systems, including the Microsoft Office suite.
- Previous experience in a personnel security, protective security, or related administrative role.
- Familiarity with government or industry security standards (e.g. UK security vetting frameworks).
- Experience supporting physical security measures within an office, site, or controlled environment.
- Experience working in a regulated, secure, or compliance‑driven environment.

- Trustworthy, dependable, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Methodical and thorough, with a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
- Willingness to learn and develop within a personnel and protective security function.
- Strong team player with a positive and professional attitude.
