You thrive on being integral to the mission; working collaboratively with customer and development teams to maintain and sustain operational integrity of mission critical National Security services through-life. You enjoy challenge, welcome end to end ownership and a broad scope of responsibility. You will be operating and maintaining platforms and applications in both reference and live environments, developing fixes and deploying releases and updates, and the triage/analysis and resolution of support tickets.

Overview: Application Operations / Support Engineer for the National Security Business. Be part of a growing and highly trusted supplier into the NS domain delivering mission critical solutions that help keep the nation safe, secure and prosperous. You will work on leading edge technology solutions including AI/DS, Cyber, Cloud, DevOps/SRE, and Platform Engineering. The organisation has secured long-term work across the full spectrum on the latest framework, providing a platform for ongoing growth and development in this domain.

Experience:

  • Windows desktop OS patching and platform skills
  • Windows system administration and Sysinternals
  • Strong scripting skills (ideally PowerShell) and Python
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Tools such as Git or Atlassian Jira/Confluence/BitBucket, and Jenkins

Desirable:

  • Some coding experience, particularly with C# or C++
  • Windows and Apple MacBook devices
  • Apple Mac shell scripting
  • Exposure to DevOps or experience working in or alongside software development teams in a CI/CD environment

Where you’ll work: You’ll find our Romsey site located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. This is not a corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site with ample parking, an on-site gym, and a driveway lined with daffodils in the spring. This role involves working the majority of the time on site at our Romsey location.

Clearances: Due to the nature of this role, you must be eligible to achieve DV clearance.
