Our client, a leading Global Banking Group, is seeking a Research Analyst to join its Corporate Research department. The critical function of the department is to utilise its industry knowledge to support the development of the bank’s business strategy and provide the best advice and services to the bank’s existing and prospective customers. By providing industry intelligence, advisory support, and value add through creativity in the form of ideas and solutions both internally and externally.

In this position, your deep sector coverage of Retail & Consumer Goods knowledge will support the development of the bank's business strategy. Providing advice and services to both existing and prospective corporate clients, helping the group build competitive advantage. By uncovering fresh market insights, you will directly drive new business opportunities, secure additional products, and provide critical transaction support. Crucially, your industry expertise will serve in protecting the asset portfolio of the bank, utilising your analytical skills to lead proactive monthly credit monitoring and bi-annual industry credit reviews.

  • Research & Reporting: Leading extensive data gathering, using statistical models like regression analysis, and building internal and external presentations.
  • Strategy & Growth: Assist senior team members with annual industry strategy reports to improve long-term profitability.
  • Transaction Analysis: Evaluate corporate business models, assess industry rationale, and provide risk/return analysis for clients, focusing on large-scale corporate exposures.
  • Market Engagement: Attend industry events and participate in regular meetings with external consultants, rating agencies, and corporate executives to gather exclusive market insights.
  • Global Collaboration: Work closely with international branches to handle global corporate inquiries and support cross-border transaction and research projects.
  • Drive the adoption of new financial technologies: Including Artificial Intelligence and alternative data analysis, to increase research efficiency.

Degree holder, ideally with a postgraduate qualification or professional certification in finance or a related discipline. Proficient in building financial models and utilising tools such as Excel, VBA, PowerBI, and Tableau to effectively illustrate your analysis. Proven ability to understand and analyse financial statements, with a strong knowledge of industry and credit analysis frameworks. This includes drafting well-structured client presentations, writing industry reports, and delivering presentations to both internal teams and corporate clients. An inquisitive mind with a strong desire to dig deeper into data.
