We are supporting them in the hire of an experienced Equity/Index Options Trader with deep market-making expertise to launch a new desk/strategy.
Job Overview
You will play a central role in launching a desk that will provide liquidity, manage risk, and execute trades in the equity and index options markets. You’ll leverage your market knowledge, quantitative skills, and ability to make rapid, data-driven decisions to enhance our client’s market-making strategies and ensure efficient, accurate pricing.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Making: Provide continuous, competitive quotes in equity/index options.
- Trade Execution: Execute trades efficiently, optimizing prices and minimizing slippage.
- Risk Management: Monitor and manage risk exposure, ensuring compliance and profitability.
- Market Analysis: Identify trading opportunities using real-time market data.
- Strategy Development: Work with quants and technology teams to refine trading approaches.
- Portfolio Management: Track and manage options positions, balancing risk and performance.
- Technology Integration: Collaborate to optimize trading systems and algorithms.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure regulatory compliance and report trading activity.
Your Background
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in equity or index options trading, with a proven track record in market making.
- Core Skills Required
Expertise in pricing and managing equity/index options in fast-moving markets.
Deep understanding of market microstructure and liquidity provision.
Advanced quantitative and analytical capabilities.
Strong risk management and position sizing skills.
Familiarity with trading platforms, order execution systems, and market data feeds.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, or Java is desirable. Experience with trading algorithms and quantitative modelling is advantageous.
