Suitable for newly qualified nurses/ODPs. The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting Band 5 Theatre Practitioners with theatre experience, especially in orthopaedics. We offer full time, part time and flexible opportunities. The team provides a holistic approach when caring for patients with complex musculoskeletal, spinal and oncology conditions, many requiring high dependency care. As one of the country’s few Elective Orthopaedic Specialist Hospitals, the Trust receives referrals and transfers only and does not operate an Emergency Department, enabling nurses and ODPs to focus on holistic, patient‑centred care.
With multi‑professional team working, we continually enhance the patient journey with high quality, evidence‑based care delivery, including Critical Care Outreach, Tissue Viability, Safeguarding, Infection Prevention and Control, among others. We also have our own community service, Royal Orthopaedic Community Service (ROCS). We have a strong commitment to education and training and provide a comprehensive package of learning and skills‑based competency, supported by senior clinical staff. All new starters will be offered a period of supernumerary practice. If you are newly qualified with recent theatres experience, you will be allocated a Preceptor to support you and access the Trust Preceptorship process.
Responsibilities
- Practice autonomously and be responsible and accountable for safe, compassionate, person centred care.
- Ensure a high standard of patient care is delivered in an effective and efficient manner, reflecting the values and ethos of The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.
- Be responsible for assessing care needs of patients, planning, implementation and the evaluation of these programmes without direct supervision.
