Health and Safety Adviser
The Health and Safety Adviser is the first point of contact in the field of Health & Safety and will use their own initiative to provide advice and work closely with Service Leads and teams (including clinical teams) to make the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital the safest it can be and to ensure continuous improvement.
The post holder will develop, promote and advise on the requirements, processes and practices to ensure compliance with health and safety statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient operation of health and safety services, meeting nationally agreed and recognised standards for the benefit of patients, visitors and staff.
- Provide specialist health and safety advice on a day‑to‑day basis and support the role of a competent person under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
- Oversee a suitable register of health and safety trust‑wide risks, audits and assessments and develop reports to enable review and monitoring by the Trust’s Health and Safety Group and other committees.
- Develop trend analyses of health and safety accidents and incidents to identify themes and recommend actions to address them.
- Deliver a comprehensive and proactive suite of H&S focused audits to support enhanced compliance.
- Represent the Trust at external meetings when required.
