We are looking to recruit an experienced chef who will provide valuable food preparation and cooking services within our cook fresh production kitchen. This is a brilliant opportunity to join a well‑respected and busy team, within a trust that strives on excellence.
We are looking for confident, experienced, and autonomous individuals who will share and respect our values, someone who is engaging, enthusiastic and organised. You will receive Trust food safety and allergen training, alongside other mandatory training essential to the role. The catering service provides a high‑quality service to patients, staff and visitors to our hospital and maintains the highest standards in customer care.
The chef will be a multi‑skilled person working within a team. It may be necessary for you to work in different sections of the Catering Department.

- Café Royale (Retail Services)
- Main Catering Stores
You will be required to undertake a wide range of duties including food preparation, food production, cleaning, cash handling and meal service duties. You should be equipped with excellent customer service skills and preferably have NHS or care sector food production experience. You will need local training on the completion of audit forms and other catering associated food safety, financial policy & procedures.
We have a 9‑month fixed term full‑time position available. The working pattern (hours of work) will rotate to meet the service demands with adequate notice given to the suitable candidate. Shift times will commence from 07:00 through to 19:00 and will include weekend working. Hours and shift patterns will be agreed if successful at interview.
