The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
The post holder will provide customer service support to patients attending the Outpatient Department at The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital. The post holder will help patients complete their questionnaires either face to face or over the telephone ensuring the provision of an efficient and effective service. The post holder will work under the supervision of the Clinical Effectiveness Manager, to ensure that the Trust has a robust clinical outcomes collection process. The post holder will be responsible for the validation and submission of patient outcomes data onto the Trust's clinical effectiveness platform 'Amplitude' and mandatory data to the National Joint Registry (NJR) and Patient Reported Outcomes Measures (PROMS) on every eligible patient who undergoes surgery within ROH. Prompt reporting of surgical data is now a core requirement by Commissioners. The post holder will be expected to coordinate the collection and submission of all of the surgical-specific in a timely fashion, ensuring the department meets all reporting and outcome deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Utilising the clinical outcomes system "Amplitude" to view and print out daily Consultant clinic lists.
- Identify patients that require questionnaire responses that are attending the Outpatient.
- Providing support to patients attending the Outpatient Department with completing questionnaires on electronic devices.
- Working alongside Outpatient Department colleagues and Consultants to identify patients that require support completing questionnaires.
- Respond to all enquiries and contact with members of the public and staff of all disciplines with tact, sensitivity, and confidentiality at all times.
- Deal with general enquiries and providing information such as direction or waiting times.
- Regular review of own systems and working practice and put forward proposals for changes to working practice and procedures.
- Ensuring urgent matters are brought to the attention of the appropriate person in a timely fashion reporting any problems or issues to senior staff and seeking clarification if unsure of procedure(s).
- Maintain the confidentiality of any information obtained regarding patients and be aware of the Data Protection Act, Caldicott and Freedom of Information policies.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience of working in an outpatient setting or similar environment handling patient data and questionnaires.
- Strong communication skills, both face to face and by telephone, with patients and colleagues.
- Experience with data collection, validation and reporting, preferably within a healthcare context.
- Ability to work under supervision and to meet reporting deadlines.
- Commitment to confidentiality and data protection policies.
