Location - UK-based (preferred proximity to Harwell and R&S Fleet Office). Rohde & Schwarz is seeking an experienced Test & Measurement Sales Specialist to grow and support our space-industry business across R&D, production, launch, operations, ground stations and end-user segments. You will combine technical understanding of RF, microwave, timing and satellite communications test with commercial skills to win strategic accounts, build long-term relationships with organisations such as the Space Catapult at Harwell, universities and research centres, industry clusters and standards bodies (e.g. DIFI and others), and to position Rohde & Schwarz solutions across the UK space ecosystem.
You will be the trusted commercial and technical point of contact for customers and partners, working closely with Rohde & Schwarz UK product management, applications and global space teams to deliver demonstrations, trials, tenders and integrated test solutions.
- Develop, execute and own the UK Space sales strategy.
- Sales responsibility for selected named accounts that drive the UK Space market.
- Identify, qualify and manage pipeline across target accounts; and lead cross-functional pursuit teams for strategic opportunities.
- Maintain accurate CRM records and produce regular pipeline and forecast reports.
- Build and maintain active relationships with Space Catapult (Harwell), academic and research institutions, innovation clusters, standards bodies (e.g. DIFI) and relevant government and defence stakeholders.
- Represent Rohde & Schwarz at industry events, trade shows, user groups and standards forums; organise workshops, technical seminars and product demonstrations.
- Provide technically credible pre-sales support product selection, system-level proposals, lab demonstrations, trials and proof-of-concept activities; coordinate applications engineering and global resources.
- Respond to RFIs/RFPs/tenders and lead pricing, commercial negotiation and contract closure in coordination with regional management and legal.
- Advocate Rohde & Schwarz solutions for satellite payload/instrument testing, RF/EMC, antenna & chamber measurements, channel emulation, modulation analysis, GNSS/timing, spectrum monitoring and ground-station front-end testing.
- Track market trends, competitor activity and standards developments; feed market intelligence to HQ product management to influence roadmap and application notes relevant to space customers.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience of selling solutions into the space sector (or adjacent markets satellite communications, aerospace, defence, telecoms).
- Strong technical understanding of RF & microwave measurement, vector signal analysis, spectrum analysis, network analysis, oscilloscopes, timing & synchronization (GNSS, atomic clocks), EMC/EMI testing, antenna/over-the-air testing, channel emulation and ground-station front-end testing.
- Familiarity with satellite communications link budgets, modulation and coding schemes, telemetry & telecommand, payload acceptance and environmental/qualification testing.
- Proven track record of tender/RFP responses, technical proposal development and systems-level selling.
- Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering, physics, telecommunications or equivalent technical qualification (or demonstrable equivalent experience).

- Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills across industry, academia and standards bodies.
- Strong presentation and demonstration skills; comfortable running lab/service demonstrations and technical workshops.
- Commercial acumen opportunity qualification, pipeline management, negotiation and closing.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to manage competing priorities and long sales cycles typical of space programmes.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK and Ireland to customer sites, with occasional international travel.
- Security clearance or ability to obtain clearance is desirable for some customer engagements.
Desirable
- Experience engaging with UK Space clusters, Space Catapult, UK Research & Innovation, ESA, and relevant standards bodies.
- Familiarity with European and UK procurement and export compliance for aerospace equipment.
