The Role
We are seeking an experienced Estimator with a strong background in main contracting to join a collaborative team of three. You will be responsible for pricing and securing a range of projects across retail, commercial, and industrial sectors. Projects typically range in value from £100k to £6m and may include new builds, refurbishments, and extensions. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive team environment with long-term stability and excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and tenders for projects from £100k to £6m.
- Work across a variety of projects, including retail, commercial, and industrial (new build, refurbishment, and extensions).
- Collaborate with the wider pre-construction team to secure profitable work.
- Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare estimates.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to gather information and negotiate costs.
- Assist in building and maintaining strong supply chain relationships.
- Support colleagues in a team of 3 estimators, contributing to knowledge sharing and teamwork.
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contracting environment.
- Strong knowledge of pricing projects across different build types.
- Experience working on retail, commercial, and/or industrial projects.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
