An established principal contractor specialising in industrial and commercial refurbishment and fit out projects is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join their growing team based in Warrington. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute estimator who understands refurbishment and fit out projects from both a pricing and delivery perspective. The role offers the chance to play a key part in the pre-construction process while working closely with senior leadership on tender strategy, pricing and securing new business.

The business is financially stable, experiencing continued growth and has a strong pipeline of secured industrial and commercial work across the Northwest, Yorkshire and Northeast. The Role

As Senior Estimator, you will lead the estimating process across a range of industrial and commercial refurbishment and fit out projects across the region.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing tender documentation and preparing detailed cost plans
  • Producing commercially competitive tenders
  • Pricing from drawings and specifications
  • Engaging with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations
  • Assessing project risks and identifying value engineering opportunities
  • Supporting tender strategy discussions with senior management
  • Working closely with commercial, operational and pre-construction teams

This is a position where your experience and input will directly influence the projects the business secures and how they position themselves within the market.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a Senior Estimator within construction, refurbishment or fit out
  • Strong background in industrial and commercial projects
  • Strong understanding of refurbishment environments, including sequencing and live site challenges
  • Ability to prepare detailed estimates from drawings and specifications
  • Good understanding of construction methods, JCT contracts and construction risk
  • Experience analysing subcontractor quotations and managing tender returns
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Competent using Excel and estimating software
  • Experience using COINS would be advantageous
