An established construction and interior fit out business specialising in CAT A and CAT B fit out and refurb projects is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join their growing team. The business delivers projects for a range of commercial clients, with the majority of their work across the Northwest and West Midlands. Projects range from £250k to £10m, with an average project value of around £2m-£3m.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator at Intermediate to Senior level who enjoys taking ownership of the tender process and pricing projects from initial enquiry through to submission. The role offers a varied workload across office fit outs and other commercial spaces, including industrial units, with the opportunity to work closely with clients, subcontractors and the delivery team. The business has a practical and collaborative approach, giving experienced Estimators the responsibility and flexibility to manage their own tenders while working within established systems and processes.
The Role
As an Estimator, you will take responsibility for pricing multiple tenders from initial enquiry through to submission. Responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing tender enquiries, drawings and specifications
- Preparing detailed estimates for CAT A and CAT B fit out and refurb projects
- Carrying out take offs and measurements from drawings and specifications
- Building up labour, material and subcontractor costs
- Obtaining, reviewing and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Preparing competitive tenders and submitting bids within required deadlines
- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve project value
- Liaising with clients, subcontractors and suppliers throughout the tender process
- Attending tender meetings and site visits as required
- Maintaining accurate estimating and tender records
- Working closely with the delivery team to ensure a smooth handover following successful tenders
- Supporting the commercial team with pricing and cost information where required
Requirements
- Proven experience as an Estimator within construction or interior fit out
- Strong CAT A and CAT B fit out and refurb experience
- Experience pricing commercial projects from £250k to £10m
- Intermediate to Senior level experience with the ability to manage tenders independently
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction costs
- Confident dealing with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
